Meet our Staff

Richard Griffiths

Richard graduated from Cambridge University Veterinary School in 1978. After qualifying he worked for three years in mixed practice in Buckinghamshire, moving to Ledbury in 1981, and has been a partner in this practice since 1983. He considers himself to be a true general practitioner with interests in all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery. Richard is the Inspector of Riding Establishments for the county of Herefordshire.

He owns two Labradors and his other interests include family, tennis, squash, sailing and skiing.

Derek Stoakes

Derek graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1979,from there he had two years of exciting mixed practice in Somerset. He then worked for three enjoyable years in South Devon and two years in North Wales.

Derek joined the practice in 1986 and became a partner in 1987.Veterinary special interests include orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, ultrasound and radiology, farm and equine practice, sheep scanning and production. He holds a certificate in Sheep Health and Production.

Two boisterous Springer Spaniels takes up some time, as do a young family, gardening and occasional horse and motorbike rides.

Helen Coe - Head Nurse

Helen joined the practice in June 1999. She spent the previous five years in busy mixed practice, where she qualified as a Veterinary Nurse. Her interests cover a wide range within the nursing field but she particularly enjoys surgery and laboratory work.

She lives in Malvern with her husband, son Morgan and two hairy cats.

Rosie Hutchinson

Rosie joined the practice in August 2003. She passed her Veterinary Nursing examination in January 2008 and is especially interested in surgical nursing.

Rosie lives in Eastnor with her parents and Jack Russell terriers Inkie and Winnie. She enjoys horse riding with her friends.

Alex Moyles

Alex joined the practice in March 2009, and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in January 2012. She has come from a background of National Hunt Racing, having worked in a yard breaking and backing horses.

Alex lives in Eldersfield with her fiancé Lee and their two terriers Thistle and Daisy, where she enjoys riding their two horses.
