Well done Alex
Alex has passed her final year theory examination in Veterinary Nursing with flying colours! We are all delighted that she is now only one small step away from qualifying. Over the past year Alex has completed a log of evidence of her training and competency in practical nursing skills, upon which she will be examined in a few weeks. The results are expected in mid October - watch this space!

Congratulations to Alex
Congratulations to Alex on passing the first year of her veterinary nursing course. She will be completing the theory part of the course one day a week at Abbeydale Vetlink Veterinary Training in Monmouth, and will sit her final written exams in July 2011. The practical side of her training will be taught by us within the practice, and Alex will demonstrate her competence by undertaking a series of practical exams in June or July of next year. We are all delighted with Alex’s exam results, which are testament to her commitment to learning, both in practice and at college.

Alex has started college
Alex has now been with us for six months and is already a much valued member of the team here. She has started her Veterinary Nursing course at Hartpury College, which means she will be away from the surgery for one day every week during term time for the next two years.
The Veterinary Nursing course is run in conjunction with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and consists of theoretical tuition and written exams at college, work based learning and accumulation of case logs demonstrating knowledge and practical ability, and practical assessments in the veterinary surgery, covering a wide range of skills from basic husbandry to radiography, laboratory work and critical care nursing. In addition, at the end of these two years of hard work, success in the final examinations (practical and written) will see Alex qualify as an RCVS recognised Registered Veterinary Nurse.
We are delighted that Alex has decided to take this step and wish her every success!
