EMS and work experience

Ledbury Park Veterinary Centre has an excellent reputation with Veterinary Schools and local high schools for providing students with a valuable work placement. Learn more about a veterinary career here.

Our aim is for all students to leave us with a better understanding of the veterinary field, a positive attitude to work and a feeling that they have advanced their practical skills. Many of our work experience students have gone on to study Veterinary Medicine at University and we now see them for EMS (Extra Mural Studies) placements!

For successful work experience applicants, a block period of five working days is offered. We can't accommodate students for single days on a regular basis, because that would limit availability for other applicants.

Clinical EMS applications from veterinary students are dealt with on an individual basis and we often have students for two or even three weeks at a time.

We only accept one student in any period to allow us to give each individual our undivided attention. In return, we just expect a willingness to learn and get involved.
