Sven

Sven came to live with Amber at the age of 5 weeks old after being born with a severe birth defect known as Pectus Excavatum. He underwent a large surgery to correct his deformity which involved him wearing a metal chest brace for 2 weeks and being waited on hand and foot by his devoted humans! After a long recovery, he now rules the household and is living his best life alongside his sister, a naughty Tortie called Minnie.

Sven’s likes involve taking long walks in new places, our favourite spots to walk are along the river Wye and anywhere else there is water for Sven to take a paddle, chasing his beloved ball in the park, barking at the birds in the sky or anything else that flies – helicopters included, cuddling up completely submerged under a blanket and eating everything and anything in sight!

Sven’s dislikes include anything cold and wet touching his feet (wet grass is the worst), the noisy hoover and lawnmower, the cardboard tube of the toilet roll and anyone that doesn’t want to share their food with him.

Sven’s love for food has made him perfect for his role as head of quality control for Ledbury Park. He ensures that nothing has been poisoned, undercooked or gone bad and is outstanding at cleaning up after people, especially his best friend Alfie the Viszla when he doesn’t finish his lunch or anybody that leaves their food unattended!

Alfie

Alfie is a Hungarian Vizsla who was born in Hull in January 2021.He moved down to the Midlands to be with his owner, Janet, when he was 9 weeks old. Believing he was being dognapped he howled during the entire 2-hour journey.
Luckily he and Janet survived this ordeal and Alfie is now happily settled in the Martin household where he enjoys an amicable co-existence with the cat, Florence and 4 tortoises.
Alfie’s hobbies are hunting pheasants and retrieving pheasants. When not out hunting or training Alfie enjoys meeting new people and new dogs, running , and removing the squeakers from toys.
When at work Alfie prefers to sleep on the sofa in the office and check out anyone that comes upstairs to the staff room. He takes his security duties very seriously and has a dim view of any unknown persons coming upstairs unexpectedly.
Alfie’s best friend at work is Sven the pug, with whom he often collaborates in raids on the bin in the kitchen.
